A.C. Sports and Wellness Expo

A.C. Sports and Wellness Expo

Postby M1L3S on August 31st, 2009, 7:07 pm

Myself, David Jones of Souderton,Pa, Fearless Hyena Stunt Team, LIFE Parkour, and Rowan Parkour participated in this expo. Real world obstacles (park bench, trash cans, Shopping carts, tables and wooden beams) were set up obstacle course style to expose parkour training to Atlantic City.

Sunday the 30th, 10am
till about 4 p.m. we warmed up, drilled techniques, ran the ever changing obstacle course, explained parkour philosophy, assisted some younger kids through the course and had a good and exhausting time.

We also got the familiar "What are they doing"? face. Those who were brave enough to ask and or run the course got a thorough answer and experience.

I will post pics up soon, here is a link to the event.

Any similar expo's coming up soon? I personally have participated in two of this type of expo: One in Baltimore, kind of an unofficial jam right on the waterfront set up inside some cones with various transplanted obstacles like tables and construction barriers, as well as the indigenous concrete features and benches, steps etc. within the jam area;
And this summer I was in Amsterdam where the Belgian equivalent of the APK hosted a big weekend performance expo right outside the CentraalStraat (Central Station). Altogether quite epic; suffice to say a 200-foot long, 30-foot high photo-mural remains plastered along the busiest canal in the city. (P.S. I'm in it!)

EDIT: I saw on the other thread that there's a convention center expo in December. Will keep updated
