Philly Parkour

hey all,
just found a gym in the philly burbs that has open sessions saturdays from 1pm to 330pm.... only $8 admission and there are instructors there to help with coaching.

me, terrence, and alex aka RUSSIAN will be there this saturday for our first time.

Do the instructors know how to coach people that are practicing parkour? I've never gone to a gymnastics place to work on my technique, so I'm curious.

its jae, we met on saturday.
i spoke with a girl there who i didn't even mention parkour to, to be honest. i told her i was a local stuntman who wanted to bring my team in for an open session. she said thats cool, and told me there were coaches who would be around if anybody needed any help. i assume she just means gymnastics.

won't really know till we go on saturday, could be some people there training in pkfr already.

Oh cool, my dad's been working down in Newtown on the one development (construction). A little far way tho. Tell me how it went.

it went pretty well on saturday. the place isnt the biggest but theres plenty of equipment.
two full size tramps, one long runway tramp, couple horse vaults, 2 balance beams (one low one high), rings, uneven bars, and lots of pads of various shapes and sizes. also padded floors.

the session was 2.5 hours for $8 so thats pretty cool.

there were a few kids there training in gymnastics so there was some waiting for some equipment, but it wasnt too long.

and coach joe and coach lacey are both there and available for help and spotting.

i'm gonna look into the cost of renting the place for a couple hours so we can have it to ourselves. i'll find out prices and post a topic here to try to get as many peeps together as possible and all chip in and rent the place to ourselves.

I'm down for renting the place. I could bring some friends with me, though I don't think any of them have any parkour experience. I had a lot of fun on my first day out, but how well would the average newbie be able to absorb basic parkour technique on their first day?
